Mine is just trays of plastic that stack on top of eachother. The trays all fit into the dishwasher. Could not be any easier to clean.

Those were awful -- I bought four bags a while ago. Not even edible like other jerky IMO. They were impossible to bite.

This.
Costco sells a Nesco brand dehydrator that works perfectly for home use. I've even done dried fruit in it as well as beef jerky. Nesco also makes kits that have the dehydration ingredients in little packages that you can buy online.

It's super disgusting. It's chewy (lots of fat) and the taste is simply bad.
I guess you're not chinese cuz those ones are far better

Actually bought mine from shop.ca during one of their massive discount sales. Got the Nesco Professional FD-75 PR for about $60 all in. Getting something at shop.ca for 50% off brings the price to about 30% lower than any other place I found. It really is great value owning one of these things if you like jerkey. I don't use the pre-mix recipes. Prefer to experiment with my own spices.
I plan to start on the fruit leather next.

Just a heads up, "yeast extract" on the ingredients here is usually another way of saying "MSG". Companies use this to hide the MSG so more people buy it.

scientists believe MSG is perfectly safe. The MSG "myth" is based a single complaint from a scientist who once ate Chinese food, got sick and decided to blame it on the additive.

I just wish it wasn't sweet. Sweet jerky is disgusting.
The texture is pretty nice (not the best) but the sugar content gets me.

That's because idiots read MSG and freak out over nothing. They are the anti vaxxers of the food world.

the korean bbq pork jerky they have is better. they also have kirkland pork strips which taste a bit like char siu
I'm a big fan of the Kirkland Pork Strips - much better than the beef strips and cheaper than the Korean pork jerky.

only thing I'm not a fan of for both kirkland beef and pork strips is the fact that they say it should be refrigerated after 3 days. makes it less accessible compared to the korean pork jerky.

I bought the Kirkland pork strips and I couldn't eat it. I did like the other Korean style jerky they have at Costco but I really didn't like the Kirkland brand one.

Just bought a 1 lbs bag for $24.
Loved it, but it's pricey. It's also not entirely beef jerky. They grill it to dehydrate it. It's also only about half dehydrated. So it's really somewhere between a short rib and jerky. Also means you're paying for a lot of moisture.
Anyone got any good leads on jerkey in the GVR?

A client of mine brought me back some jerky from a spot in Aberdeen mall. Mei Jan Hong. Its not quite as good as BKH but its decent. A lot drier but not dry like Western style
